Where will the session take place?

I've carefully chosen locations, and you can find them in a detailed guide to assist you in selecting the best spot. While you might come across other beaches online, it's essential to note that Hawaii mandates permits for commercial activities and not all beaches are available for permits. I only shoot at beaches where obtaining these permits is straightforward.

I've intentionally decided not to shoot at some epic locations on the Big Island to show cultural respect. Whether you choose me or another photographer, please make sure they are respecting these locations as well and also obtaining permits.

How quickly will I receive my photos?

You can expect to receive your photos within three weeks of your photoshoot, and often, you may receive them even sooner. If you need your photos quickly, message me about a rush fee. 

Do you travel to other islands?

While I'm not currently traveling to other islands, if you appreciate my work and would like recommendations for the outer islands, I'd be more than happy to share those with you.

Do you release raw images?

I do not release raw images as part of my photography service. My goal is to provide you with professionally edited and finalized photos that showcase the best quality and artistic expression. If you have specific requests or concerns regarding the final edits, feel free to let me know, and I'll do my best to accommodate your preferences within the scope of my editing style.

Do you photograph weddings and elopements?

Currently, I am not offering wedding and elopement coverage. Vow renewal - YES!

Do you reschedule for weather?

I take weather conditions into careful consideration to ensure the optimal outcome for your photoshoot. In the event of inclement weather, we can explore the possibility of rescheduling to a more suitable date and time. Capturing high-quality images is my priority, and adapting the schedule based on weather conditions is crucial to achieving that goal. To minimize any potential inconvenience, I recommend scheduling your photoshoot toward the beginning of your vacation, allowing flexibility in case we need to reschedule for another day.

Will we get in the water?

We will only get near the water if the conditions are safe. The safety and comfort of everyone involved in the photoshoot are a top priority, and I'll ensure that we capture beautiful moments while maintaining a safe environment. If you don’t want to get in the water that’s totally fine too! Just know because we will be on a beach that part of your outfit might get wet! 

Do you have recommendations for florals and makeup?

YES! I have some great recommendations for you, just ask! 

My photography sessions exclusively take place during sunrise and sunset, typically right at sunrise and an hour before sunset. From December through the beginning of March, sunrise occurs around 6:45 AM to 7 AM. In the summer months, sunrise is approximately at 5:45 AM. As for sunsets, during the fall and winter months, they tend to happen earlier, around 5 PM, while in the summer months, sunset sessions start around 6 PM. 

What time will the session take place?

Opting for a sunrise session offers the advantage of empty beaches, cooler temperatures, and soft pastel colors. I recommend sunrise, especially for families with small children who may find it challenging to adjust to the time difference. It's often easier to schedule a sunrise session at the start of your trip before fully adapting to the time zone. If you're seeking warm and dramatic hues, a sunset session would be ideal, and it's worth noting that everyone tends to enjoy a warm Kona sunset.
